A buddy at work turned me on to Defense of the ancients. I had been suckered into pre-ordering demigod and have yet to really get into it. Man is this game fun.
The basic ideas are:
1. Pick a hero (many to choose from that all have special abilities)
2. Buy items (or combination’s of items called recipes) and enhance your stats.
3. Defend your base while attempting to destroy your opponents base.
The best part of it is, it let me dust off my ole WC3 discs.
UPDATE! Looks like the guys that made DotA have thier own game on the way: via kotaku
Game engine looks like a “fruitier” version of Warcraft 3. Sure didn’t stop me from signing up for the beta though..
